VidSplitter is a small and useful free application that allows you to split video (like, for instance, big movies) to several pieces so they fit in CD or DVD discs, or trim them by placing start and end points to get specific scenes or segments.
This program lets you set start and end points of the clip to cut with the help of a small preview screen and a time line, configure output settings like codec, width, height, frame rate, etc., or choose size of output pieces between flash drive (128Mb), CD disk (700Mb), DVD disk (4.7Gb) or custom size.
Features of this video splitter include high speed, the ability to split to several pieces according to size, and support for popular video formats like AVI, MPEG, WMV, and ASF.
VidSplitter does not support splitting according to number of output pieces, but it is a good option if you need a simple application to trim a couple of files (no batch processing is supported). You can download this software at no cost at all.
